Recognizing and honoring volunteers sets a standard for service, encourages a sustained commitment to civic participation, and inspires others to make service a central part of their lives.
The President's Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals, families, businesses, and groups that have achieved a certain standard - measured by the number of service hours over a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime.
AWARD CRITERIA
Any individual, family, business, or group may receive Presidential recognition for volunteer hours earned over any 12-month period or over the course of a lifetime. Activities should be unpaid and may not include court-ordered community service.
The following are the eligibility requirements for each age group:
Bronze Level Kids (14 and younger): 50 to 74 hours Young Adults (15-25): 100 to 174 hours Adults (25 and older): 100 to 249 hours Family, Groups, & Businesses: 200 to 499 hours
Silver Level Kids (14 and younger): 75 to 99 hours Young Adults (15-25): 175 to 249 hours Adults (25 and older): 250 to 499 hours Family, Groups, & Businesses: 500 to 999 hours
Gold Level Kids (14 and younger): 100 hours or more Young Adults (15-25): 250 hours or more Adults (25 and older) : 500 hours or more Family, Groups, & Businesses: 1000 hours or more
President's Call to Service Award All Ages: 4,000 hours or more of volunteer community service over a lifetime.
